This Policy explains what the Petvimo app does with information. It applies to users in the United States, Australia, and New Zealand. Our legal name and address appear in the "About the developer" section of the app store listing; you can reach us and our privacy officer at info@petvimo.com.
The short version
- Petvimo runs on an account. You sign in with Google, Apple, or an email address; your records belong to your account rather than to one phone.
- Stored with your account: your pet profiles and the health details you enter, vaccine and BARF records, your Vimo chats and any photos you attach, your food-and-water records, and your Family Sharing membership.
- Symptoms you share about your pet in Vimo chats may be recorded as health observations for follow-up. Deidentified data — which cannot be linked to you — may be used to improve our services and our AI.
- Daily backup: your in-app records (calendar, vaccines, BARF days, behavior, training, health and care tracking) are backed up to your account once a day as a single copy, so they come back on a new phone.
- Stored only on your device: documents, memory photos, and your app preferences.
- No ads. No advertising identifiers. No cross-app tracking. No sale or sharing of personal information.
- Crash reports are sent when the app fails, without your identity. We do not collect usage analytics.
- You can permanently delete your account and its data from inside the app, at any time.
1. Your account
Creating an account requires an email address; if you sign in with Google or Apple, your account's display name is also received. Your password never reaches us — it is held irreversibly by the authentication service and we cannot see it.
An account is required so your records survive a lost or replaced phone, and so Family Sharing can work.
2. Data stored with your account
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Pet profiles and the health details you enter (conditions, allergies, medications, notes) | So your records return on a new device and can be shared through Family Sharing |
| Daily backup of your in-app records (calendar tasks, vaccines, BARF days, behavior programs, learned commands, health records, care tracking, and other module records) | So your records come back if you change phones or reinstall |
| Vimo chat history and photos you attach | To generate answers and let you revisit past chats |
| Health observations about your pet drawn from your chats (symptom you observed, how long, severity) | Tracking your pet's health and sending you follow-up questions |
| Food and water records, feeding plan | Daily tracking and coordination within Family Sharing |
| Family Sharing membership (your name, join date, invite code) | To make sharing work |
| Plan and remaining-usage counter | To recognize your subscription |
These are held on the servers of our cloud infrastructure provider.
3. Daily backup, and what stays only on your device
Daily backup. Your in-app records are kept on your phone and backed up to your account once a day as a single copy: calendar tasks, vaccines, BARF days, behavior programs, learned commands, health records, care tracking, and other module records. Each new backup replaces the previous one; if you change phones or reinstall, your records come back from the latest backup. Deleting your account deletes the backup too.
Only on your device: your language and notification preferences, plus the documents and memories described below.
Documents and memories: any documents you attach for your pet (lab results, prescriptions, photos of a vaccination card) and memory photos stay only on your device — no copy is ever sent to a server. A prescription or report may carry other people's information, such as a veterinarian's name and signature; those files never reach us, but keeping your device secure and deciding who you share them with is up to you.
Documents, memories, and preferences are not part of the backup and are never sent to a server — which also means we cannot restore them if you lose your device. Deleting your account also deletes these files from your device.
4. Vimo AI assistant
When you send a message to Vimo, your message text, the pet context sent with it, and any photo you attach go to our AI service provider's infrastructure to generate the answer.
- Our AI service provider does not use content sent to train its own models.
- The AI processing layer does not archive chats; only requests flagged by automated abuse detection may be held for review for up to 30 days.
- Your chat history is stored with your account and you can delete individual chats or all of them. Chat history keeps up to 100 chats.
- Health observations: when you tell Vimo about a symptom you've observed in your pet, it may be recorded for your pet's health tracking. Only situations you observe in your pet are recorded — general questions are not. These records concern your pet, are not a diagnosis, and make no decisions about you. Information about your own health or other people is not recorded as an observation.
- Follow-up questions: Vimo may later ask you a follow-up question about symptoms you shared. It is a reminder, not emergency detection.
- Quality review: the accuracy of health-observation records may be checked by authorized people on a limited sample.
- Reporting an answer: if you report a Vimo answer as wrong or inappropriate, the reported answer is kept for review for 7 days, then deleted.
- Request records: records of requests made to Vimo (such as which account and when) are kept for 30 days to enforce plan allowances and to detect errors and abuse.
What not to send: do not include your own health information, government IDs, financial details, or information about other people. When attaching photos, keep people, faces, and identifying documents out of frame. Not sending it is the strongest privacy protection there is.
4.1 Deidentified data
We may use data that has been deidentified — so it cannot reasonably be linked to you, your household, or your pet — to improve our services, develop our own AI models, and for research and statistics, and we may share it with partners for those purposes. We maintain and use such data only in deidentified form, do not attempt to reidentify it, and contractually require anyone we share it with not to reidentify it. Deidentified data is not personal information and falls outside account deletion. Data that can identify you is not used or shared for these purposes.
5. Family Sharing — who sees what
Family Sharing is optional and included with a paid plan. We call the person who sets it up the owner and the people invited members. Before you set it up, know exactly what it does:
If you are the owner: members you invite can see your pet profiles and the health details you entered, and can write food and water records. They cannot change or delete your pet information. Your name is visible to them.
If you are a member: you see the owner's pets; your own pets are not visible to the owner. Your name is visible to the owner and other members. Only the owner edits the feeding plan.
For everyone: members can delete each other's feeding entries for the day, and for technical reasons we cannot tell who deleted what. It is a convenience designed for people sharing a home — set it up knowing this.
Plan changes: how many members you can invite depends on your plan. If you downgrade, members above the new plan's limit are removed, most recently joined first.
Leaving: either the owner or the member can end a membership at any time, which ends access. Invite codes are single-use and expire after 7 days.
5.1 Crash reports
Crash reports (always on). When the app crashes we receive the error and stack trace, the screen it happened on, your device model, OS version, and app version. Your name, email, pet data, and chats are never in these reports. An installation identifier links reports from the same device; it is not matched to your identity. Reports are deleted after 90 days. We collect this for one reason: we cannot fix a crash we cannot see.
6. Data we do NOT collect
No precise or approximate location. No contacts, calendar, microphone, or background camera access. No advertising ID (AAID/IDFA). No cross-app tracking. No biometric identifiers — we do not scan faces or extract face geometry from photos. No sale of personal information, no sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising, and no targeted advertising as defined by U.S. state privacy laws. We have never done any of these.
7. Retention
| Data | How long |
|---|---|
| Account and everything tied to it (health observations included) | Until you delete your account; chat history keeps up to 100 chats |
| Food and water records | Kept for current tracking; records older than 30 days are deleted |
| Post-deletion record (see §8) | No longer than 90 days |
| Crash reports | 90 days |
| Vimo request records | 30 days |
| Reported answers | 7 days |
| Data on your device (including documents and memories) | Until you delete it, delete your account, or uninstall |
| Daily backup of your in-app records | Replaced each day by the next; deleted when you delete your account |
| Support emails | 3 years after resolution |
| Privacy-request records | 10 years (proof of compliance) |
| Purchase/accounting records | As required by applicable tax law |
| Deidentified data (see §4.1) | Not personal information; outside this table |
8. Deleting your account — and what remains briefly
Deleting your account: you can delete it permanently from inside the app. For security you will be asked to re-authenticate first. Deletion covers your pet profiles, health details, chats, health observations, feeding records, Family Sharing memberships, local records on your device, your daily backup, and your sign-in record, which are deleted immediately. It cannot be undone.
What remains briefly, stated plainly: after deletion we keep your account ID number, an irreversible cryptographic hash of your email address (not the address itself), the deletion date, and your free-allowance counter. Its only purpose is to stop someone from resetting the free allowance indefinitely by deleting and re-creating an account. This record contains none of your chats, pet data, or other content; it cannot be used to contact you, is used only for this purpose, is never shared, and is deleted within 90 days at the latest. You can open a new account with the same email within those 90 days; it opens normally, only the free allowance does not reset. In addition, Vimo request records are deleted within 30 days and reported answers within 7 days at the latest.
Deleting less than everything: you can remove Vimo chats, individual pets, and on-device records without deleting your account; a deleted record drops out of the backup with the next daily backup.
Device backups: if Google Drive or iCloud backup is on, a copy of on-device data may sit in your platform account. We cannot reach or delete that — manage it in your device settings.
9. Security
Server data is reachable only by your own account and, with Family Sharing, the members you authorized; this is enforced by server-side access rules. Traffic is encrypted in transit. On-device data sits in OS-protected app storage. Protecting the device itself is in your hands: screen lock, current OS, no sideloading. No system is absolutely secure; if a breach affecting your information occurs, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by applicable law — in the United States, your state's breach-notification law; in New Zealand, the Privacy Act 2020; in Australia, the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme where it applies to us.
10. Children
Petvimo is not directed to children under 13, and per our Terms all users must be 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; if we learn we have, we will delete the account and its data. Parents and guardians: info@petvimo.com.
11. Your U.S. privacy rights
Regardless of which state you live in and regardless of statutory thresholds, we honor these requests at info@petvimo.com, verified through your account email, answered within 45 days: Know/Access what we hold about you; Delete it; Correct it; Portability (a copy in readable form). We never discriminate for exercising rights. An authorized agent may submit a request with your written permission.
Verification. To protect your privacy we may ask for information needed to confirm the request comes from you; if we cannot reasonably verify identity, we may be unable to act and will tell you why.
Extensions and refusals. Where a request is complex or we receive a high volume, we may extend the 45-day period by up to a further 45 days and will tell you why within the original period. We may decline requests that are manifestly unfounded, excessive, or repetitive, and will explain our reasons.
Appeals. If we deny a request you may appeal by replying to our decision; appeals are answered within 45 days. If your appeal is denied, you may complain to your state attorney general — in Colorado, Connecticut, and other states providing this route, contact details are supplied with our appeal decision.
No profiling. We do not profile users, and we do not carry out automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects. Vimo's answers, and any health observations recorded about your pet, concern your pet; they make no decisions about you and are not used to profile, score, or target you. There is accordingly no profiling to opt out of.
Most of this is faster from inside the app, where you can view, correct, and delete your data — including your whole account — without waiting on us.

Sources: you, your use of the app, and the app store for purchase validation. Retention: as set out in §7. Never sold or shared for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not collect biometric identifiers, geolocation, contacts, browsing history across other services, or inferences drawn to build a profile about you (health observations describe your pet, not you).
- We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that would trigger a "Limit" right. No "Do Not Sell or Share" link is required because we do not sell or share, and we treat any Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as a valid opt-out to the extent one could ever apply.
- Do Not Track: our app is not a website and does not track users over time across third-party services; we do not respond to browser DNT signals because there is nothing they would change.
- California residents may designate an authorized agent. We offer no financial incentives tied to data.
- Shine the Light (Civil Code § 1798.83): we do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes, so there is nothing to report under this law.
Washington & Nevada (consumer health data laws)
Petvimo is a pet-health app: the health information in it concerns animals, and we do not seek, collect, or infer consumer health data about you. Vimo is instructed to decline questions about human health, and health observations are recorded about pets only — information about people's health is not recorded as an observation. If you nonetheless type your own health information into a chat, it is used only to provide the Vimo service, is never shared or sold, and stays stored with that chat in your account until you delete the chat or your account. Please do not include it. Questions or requests: info@petvimo.com.
Other states
Residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon, Montana, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws receive the same rights listed above, whether or not those statutes' applicability thresholds are met.
