This Notice defines what the Petvimo app is — and what it is not. It is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service, which you accept when you first open the app.
For educational and informational purposes only
Petvimo provides general educational information about animal health, care, nutrition, and behavior. Its purpose is to help you understand your animal better, learn why certain things matter, and have a more productive conversation with your veterinarian.
It is not veterinary care. It does not examine your animal, diagnose disease, prescribe treatment or medication, and is not a substitute for a licensed veterinarian.
1. Not veterinary care; no veterinarian-client-patient relationship
1.1 Petvimo does not provide veterinary medical services, diagnosis, treatment, prescriptions, or professional advice of any kind. All content is general in nature and is not tailored to any individual animal.
1.2 Use of the app does not create a veterinarian-client-patient relationship (VCPR) between you and Petvimo, its founder, or any veterinarian, under the laws of any U.S. state. The app has never seen, examined, or tested your animal and does not know its medical history or current clinical condition.
1.3 In every U.S. state, the practice of veterinary medicine is restricted to licensed veterinarians. Petvimo does not practice veterinary medicine and nothing in the app may be interpreted as doing so.
1.4 The involvement of veterinary expertise in building the app does not mean the app renders professional judgment about your individual animal.
2. Emergencies
2.1 If your animal is showing concerning signs right now, stop reading and contact a veterinarian immediately.
2.2 In the United States, your fastest options are: - Your own veterinarian or the nearest 24/7 emergency animal hospital; - ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center: (888) 426-4435 (a consultation fee may apply); - Pet Poison Helpline: (855) 764-7661 (a per-incident fee applies).
2.2A Outside the United States — including Australia and New Zealand — contact your own veterinarian or the nearest 24/7 emergency animal hospital. The hotlines above are U.S. services and charge fees; outside the U.S., your local veterinarian or emergency animal hospital is the fastest route.
2.3 Petvimo is not an emergency service, cannot dispatch help, and must never be used in place of one. If in doubt, the rule is simple: call a veterinarian.
2.4 Species changes urgency: birds and small mammals (rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs and similar) hide illness until it is advanced, and their low body weight means small amounts can have outsized effects. What might be "watch and wait" in a dog can be an emergency in these species.
3. Medications, dosing, and home intervention
3.1 The app's authored content — disease pages, the toxic-substance database, vaccine schedules, calculators, and training/behavior programs — contains no drug names, doses, or dosing schedules. We write and review that content, and it will not produce this information even if you enter it yourself.
3.2 The Vimo AI assistant is designed and instructed not to provide drug names or doses. However, AI language models are probabilistic; a prompt-manipulation attempt or model error could produce unexpected output. If any Vimo response ever names a drug, a dose, or a treatment regimen, do not rely on it, do not act on it, and report it to info@petvimo.com. Medication decisions belong to a veterinarian who has examined your animal.
3.3 Petvimo never instructs you to induce vomiting. With some substances, inducing vomiting causes additional, irreversible harm. That decision belongs to a veterinarian who knows your animal and the substance involved. If any output appears to suggest otherwise, do not act on it (see 3.2).
3.4 "Home care" content assumes a diagnosis already made by a veterinarian and covers supportive home arrangements only. If the app's content ever conflicts with your veterinarian's instructions, your veterinarian's instructions control.
4. Module-specific notices
4.1 "Is It Toxic?" — toxic food and substance lookup - Educational and informational. It explains why a substance can be harmful to animals, how it acts, and what to watch for. It is not a diagnostic tool and never a reason not to call a veterinarian. - Actual risk depends on the amount ingested, your animal's species, breed, size, age, and health, and the product's exact ingredients. The app cannot know any of these. - The app does not calculate doses. "How much is too much" is a question for the veterinarian or poison-control professional holding the package information. - Even a low-risk item can be dangerous in large amounts or in a small, young, old, or ill animal. Prepared dishes vary by kitchen; a result is only meaningful if the true ingredients are known. - Absence from the list does not mean an item is safe. The list is finite; it cannot cover every food, plant, medication, or household product. - The database covers dogs, cats, and birds. Toxicity is genuinely species-specific; the module is unavailable for other species profiles for that reason.
4.2 Food comparison and portions - Educational and informational. It helps you read and compare nutritional values; it is not veterinary advice. The module contains no price information. - Catalog values come from manufacturers' official product pages; retailer listings are never used as a source. Manufacturers change formulas without notice. Check the package in your hands before feeding. - Products you add yourself are outside our verification. Comparisons built on your manual entries rely entirely on what you typed; verifying those values against the package is your responsibility. - The app cannot tell you which food is right for your animal — especially with a diagnosed condition, pregnancy or nursing, or at very young or senior ages. Prescription and therapeutic diets requiring veterinary supervision are excluded from the catalog entirely. - Products are never scored or ranked. A value the manufacturer has not published displays as "No data" — it is not treated as zero and does not mean the nutrient is absent. - Where a calorie value was not published, it is calculated from the product's own analysis using a standard formula and flagged as estimated; calculated values can differ from measured ones. - Portion outputs are starting points from general formulas (AAFCO/FEDIAF-aligned references); individual needs vary and should be adjusted with weight tracking. The AAFCO nutritional adequacy statement on the package governs what the product is formulated for.
4.3 BARF / raw feeding calculator - Educational and informational formulation support. It does not create a veterinarian-formulated diet for your individual animal and does not guarantee any recipe is complete, balanced, or safe. - The FDA and CDC have cautioned that raw pet food can carry pathogens (such as Salmonella and Listeria) that sicken both animals and people. Careful sourcing and hygiene reduce, but do not eliminate, that risk. Raw bones can fracture teeth or obstruct the esophagus or gut. - General ratios can be inadequate or harmful for growing, pregnant, nursing, or senior animals, and for animals with kidney, liver, pancreatic, gastrointestinal, or metabolic disease. Long-term use in these animals should be evaluated by a licensed veterinarian or veterinary nutritionist. - If your household includes infants, elderly persons, or anyone immunocompromised, make the raw-feeding decision together with your veterinarian.
4.4 Vaccine schedule - The generated schedule is an estimate, not a certainty. It is built from the history you declare; the app cannot verify which vaccines were actually given. The highest confidence the app will ever express about a declared vaccine is "likely — needs veterinary confirmation." - Timing depends on age, prior records, the specific product used, health status, and exposure risk. Confirm the schedule against your vaccination records and with your veterinarian. - Vaccination requirements, including rabies, are set by the laws where you live (in the U.S., state and local law), and vary by jurisdiction. Nothing in this app satisfies, documents, or proves compliance with any rabies, licensing, travel, boarding, or registration requirement. The app's records are not a vaccination certificate, a rabies certificate, or an official record of any kind. - No established vaccine protocol is offered for birds.
4.5 Behavior & training - Educational and informational support. The app does not diagnose or treat behavioral or medical conditions. - Behavior is affected by pain and disease. Sudden, severe, or worsening behavior changes should be evaluated by a veterinarian first. - Where aggression is involved, human and animal safety come first; such cases call for in-person professional evaluation, not remote content. - Use reward-based methods only. Stop any exercise that produces fear, stress, aggression, or risk of injury. Results vary and are not guaranteed.
4.6 Care tracking (condition pages and daily logs) - Educational, reference and tracking support. Checklists and logs do not diagnose and do not rule out disease. Condition pages assume the diagnosis was made by a veterinarian and cannot be used for self-diagnosis. - Daily logs may help you notice a pattern; a pattern is an observation, not a diagnosis. See a veterinarian for new, worsening, persistent, or concerning signs.
4.7 Calendar & notifications - Reminders are a convenience, not a reliable medical alert system. They can be delayed or never delivered — device off, battery optimization, OS restrictions, disabled permissions, time-zone changes, app updates or removal. - Tracking your animal's medication, vaccine, and check-up times remains your responsibility. Do not make the app the sole safeguard for any critical timing.
4.8 Body & muscle condition tools - BCS and MCS assessments rely on your own observation and touch; they are subjective and can differ between assessors. Breed weight ranges are supporting estimates; ideal weight is individual and set by a veterinarian. These tools do not diagnose obesity, cachexia, or any condition.
4.9 Food & water tracking and Family Sharing - A feeding entry is a tracking record, not proof that your animal ate or how much. It shows only that someone tapped it in the app. - Reminders and plan slots are not a medical feeding protocol. Where a prescription diet, fluid restriction, or measured feeding is involved, your veterinarian's instructions control. - Double-feeding risk with Family Sharing: when more than one person cares for the same animal, check the list before marking an entry. The app cannot know how many times an animal was actually fed — only what was entered. - Family Sharing members can delete a day's entries regardless of who added them. Set up Family Sharing knowing this. - Entries are kept for 30 days and then deleted automatically; this is not a long-term feeding diary.
4.10 Vimo — AI assistant - Vimo runs on an AI language model. Its answers are not veterinary advice and carry no diagnostic, treatment, or prescription weight. - AI models can produce inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated information. No accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose is guaranteed. - Vimo is offered in three tiers: Vimo, Vimo Pro, and Vimo Exotic (beta). Tiers differ in depth and scope; no tier ever amounts to professional veterinary judgment. - Vimo Exotic helps only with husbandry: care, housing, environmental conditions, and feeding. It does not diagnose and does not suggest treatment. The clinical literature for exotic species is far narrower than for dogs and cats, and these species mask illness; that is why this tier is deliberately kept entirely outside the clinical domain. If you describe symptoms, Vimo Exotic will not interpret them — it will direct you to a veterinarian experienced with exotic species. - When you attach a photo, the model works only with the limited information visible in it. A photo assessment is not an examination and lacks everything a physical exam, labs, and imaging provide. - Follow-up questions: Vimo may later ask you a follow-up question about symptoms you shared. It is a reminder — it does not detect emergencies or monitor your pet, and it may not arrive on time. If signs are severe or getting worse, contact your veterinarian without waiting for a follow-up. - Vimo's job is to help you understand a situation and have a better conversation with your veterinarian — never to replace the decision to see one. Vimo requires an internet connection and can be interrupted; never wait on Vimo in an emergency.
5. Data sources, currency, and accuracy
Catalog data is sourced solely from manufacturers' official pages, with the source and verification date shown in the comparison view. A verification date shows when we last checked — it does not guarantee the record is still current; the package in your hands is authoritative. We do not warrant that content is complete, error-free, or current at all times. Error reports: info@petvimo.com.
6. Prices
The app does not provide price information for pet foods or other products. Petvimo sells no products, brokers no sales, and represents no seller. For pricing, check with the seller.
7. Third-party brands
Brand and product names appearing in the app belong to their owners and are used solely to identify products for informational purposes (nominative fair use). This use implies no affiliation, sponsorship, endorsement, or approval. Petvimo does not recommend, disparage, score, or rank any brand.
8. Not official records
Petvimo requires an account, and your records are tied to it rather than to one device. Even so, nothing you store in Petvimo is an official record. App entries do not satisfy any state or local licensing, rabies registration, microchip registration, travel, boarding, or insurance documentation requirement, and are not a health certificate or vaccination record. Petvimo does not connect to any government or registry system.
9. Scope of responsibility
By using the Service you acknowledge that its content is educational and informational, that decisions about your animal's care, health, and behavior are yours and yours alone, and that you assume responsibility for those decisions and their consequences. You use the Service at your own risk.
Decisions about your animal are yours as its legal caretaker, made with your veterinarian. The app is provided "as is"; the detailed disclaimers and limitations of liability are in the Terms of Service, which control in case of any conflict with this Notice. Nothing in this Notice limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for willful misconduct.
10. Regional differences
Content, modules, and databases vary by country and language. Some features may be unavailable in your region or offered with different scope, because content is prepared against the sources and requirements applicable there.
11. Changes
We may update this Notice. The current version is always available in the app and at petvimo.com. Material changes will be flagged in the app.
